History :

In
pre independence period Gunjoti was a district
center known as Payagah in Hyderabad state under the
rule of Nizam. This paygah was the part of Jahagir
given to Nawab Khurshid Jaha by Nizam.
There were facilities like court, collector’s
office, hospital, police station and post office.
Since the national high way number nine passing from
Omerga laying only three km. from Gunjoti, keeping
the name “Gunjoti” as the district place the offices
were shifted to Omerga. Though the local people
opposed this shifting, the power did not yield.
Though Gunjoti was District head quarter, Nizam
looked at it only for the annual income, did not pay
much attention for welfare and development of local
people. Education, the master key in the progress
and self-respect of man, should be available to the
common people. This was impossible under the
circumstances ruled by Nizam
In the year 1927 Advocates Shriniwasrao Shaiwale and
Haripant Rakhelkar along with few social workers
inspired by national spirit, actively involved in
freedom movement of Hyderabad state founded
“Shrikrishna Shikshan Sanstha” and started with
Shrikrishna Pathshala at Gunjoti. as This pathshala
was a private education institution Nizam Government
had partial view on it. Government grants therefore
were impossible. Since the task started with
spiritual thought, social well-being, and selfless
attitude, disregarding opposition from Govt. and
economic difficulties, the institution was developed
continuously.
The progress of institution depends not only on
sincere efforts of teachers but also on the
foresight of the management. From beginning all
members of management looked after for the
development of the institute. Under the valuable
guidance of Ex-M.P. Shri. Tulashiramji Patil and
popular Surgeon Dr. D.B. Patange the institution has
started Junior and Senior college with Arts, Science
and Commerce Streams including Vocational courses.
This college is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar
Marathwada University, Aurangabad and working
specially for students below proverty line and for
girls of this region who can not go for higher
education urban areas. Since 2001-02 academic year
institute has launched a computer centre having
Govt. recognized courses. College is Accreditated to
B grade with 71.5 Points from NAAC, Bangalore and
